This is an impressive technology that fits on a slim 55-inch screen. However, it has a problem: its price is not in line with the rest of Xiaomi products.
The Mi TV Lux Transparent Edition television features a design with reduced frames and, when turned off, has the appearance of transparent glass, 5.7 millimeters thick, as reported by Xiaomi in a statement.
The device does not have a rear panel, like most televisions today, but processes the content on its base. It makes use of an OLED screen, and Xiaomi claims that it is "the world's first mass-produced transparent OLED TV".
The 55-inch OLED panel provides a static contrast ratio of 150,000: 1, support for 93 percent of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, and 10-bit technology, which can reproduce 1.07 billion colors. Its image specifications are rounded off with a 120 hertz (Hz) refresh rate, a millisecond response rate to reduce latency, and MEMC technology for smoother motion.
It equips a MediaTek 9650 custom processor, with 20 optimization algorithms adapted to five different situations, while at the sound level it has support for Dolby Atmos technology. This television will go on sale in China on August 16 for a price of 6,115 euros -49,999 yuan-, more than one million of the old pesetas.
